Eyyyy! I’m back guys! I know it’s a week later than I said and I skipped last week’s Instagram posts but uh. In my defense, college has been really time consuming lately. Anyway! I’ve got art I’m proud of and a ramble about the character I featured, so I hope you’re ready to read me talking your ear off!
[image description: a digital drawing of a white-appearing person on a white background. The person is tall, and you can’t see their feet. He is pale, with short black hair, grey eyes, and pointy ears. He has a pointed chin and kind of rounded nose. He’s wearing a dark grey turtle neck, a brown suit jacket that’s been buttoned up, and black pants. The person also has a very large pair of purple fairy-style wings on their back. The larger and higher wings are purple with blue-purple swirls on them. The lower and smaller set of wings are blue-purple with purple swirls. The person has some barely noticeable purple markings on the back of his hands and neck. The person’s arms are crossed over their chest with a hand splayed over their heart, an Ernest expression on their face, gazing off somewhere to the left of the “camera”. There is writing next to the person reading “Do i help them?” End image description]
So. For those of you who don’t know, this is my OC, Felixxian Thana, or Felix for short. He uses he/him pronouns and is agender! He’s a fae and also the most dramatic person ever, as the title of this post clearly indicates. I’m not kidding. He’s the kind of person who would get like.... A paper cut or something.... And act like it was a mortal wound. Felix is technically a villain, I guess? He is not actually the best of people when you first meet him and he does a lot of messed up stuff but he’s not ever officially on the opposite side of the protagonist, just his dad. So I’m not sure if he would actually be considered a villain or even an anti-hero— just sort of like a jerk with a grudge and some serious issues from manipulation. It’s complicated, Felix is complicated, and I’m just happy the guy gets something akin to a redemption arc because his dramatic stereotypical villain persona self would have just wreaked havoc with the other actual villains and people causing problems for the rest of the cast. Interesting trivia about Felix: he is a therapist, he’s dating the personification of Death, and when asked to sing a song on karaoke nights will sing Poor Unfortunate Souls. That’s what he’s singing above.
Anyway. I like this drawing of Felix, and I hope i get to actually draw a full on comic of him just being a walking villain meme and also extremely in character. This was my first time drawing this pose too and I think it turned out pretty good (if a bit stiff and rigid) for my first time. Hope you like this as much as I do and enjoyed my ramble about Felix!
I’ll see you in the next post, but until then: may you have all the luck in the stars!
