I'm back after several weeks of inactivity with some art! Bad art, admittedly, but art!!!!
[Image Description:
A scanned image of a traditional art piece made with coloured pencils and inking pens. The drawing is a scene of two people on a wall in front of a red house with a blue door. The wall is orange, with a tan top, and is supposed to be made of concrete that has been painted orange. The first person on the wall is feminine looking and sitting on top of the wall with their legs dangling over the edge. The second person on the wall is leaning and practically lying on the wall, with their arms on the wall and supporting their head. Both people on the wall are very pale skinned and white, with freckles and black eyes. They also have similar face shapes and the same orange markings poking out of their clothes on their neck and hands, almost appearing to be related but not quite. The feminine looking person has shoulder length pinkish-purple hair, and is wearing a light blue shirt, a green jacket with purple lining, dark grey pants, and blue sneakers. They are smiling, but it does not seem to be genuine, appearing to be more dangerous and cocky than borne from joy. Their grin is aimed at something not in the drawing that is straight ahead of them. The second person has much shorter blue hair and the only clothing of theirs that you can see is a green jacket. This person is not smiling, and seems very depressed, staring off into the world in front of them aimlessly. End of Image Description]
Today's drawing is of Vrinn and Autore, two Sigmapods who have been tasked with observing the humans. It's not all of the drawing, because it sucked a lot and I did not use depth perception skills at all, but it's the part that matters.
A bit on this piece:
Time Taken: I don't even know several weeks I literally finished it on Wednesday after an indeterminate amount of time of NOT drawing oof.
Drawing Materials: Inking pens, BIC 0.5mm mechanical pencils, Crayola coloured pencils, and your standard rubber eraser.
A bit about the characters and the Sigmapods! If you're interested!
The Sigmapods are basically a type of octopus that through magic and determination can shapeshift into humans. In their natural form, they look like your regular Common Octopus-- if larger than normal and with bright orange rings on their tentacles. As a "human", they look like a human who's got a really good dye job and weird orange ring "tattoos" on their neck, arms, the side of their chests, and legs. They're capable of living both in and out of the water, but they have to make sure they're able to keep moist otherwise they'll dry out and be cranky. Sigmapods are not very human-y in terms of behavior, and definitely do not have what most humans would consider good social skills and manners. Thus, they tend to observe the humans from afar and not interact with them unless it's necessary. In fact, having to observe and interact with humans is actually considered a punishment for them-- basically their version of prison oof.
Vrinn and Autore are two Sigmapods who've gotten in trouble for some as-of-yet unknown reasons, so they're watching the humans. Vrinn probably because she played a prank that went wrong and Autore because he aided her since he literally cannot say no. Vrinn is having fun with this job, for the most part, but poor Autore is miserable. He doesn't like being outside in the sun where it's hot and humid and bright and where he keeps getting sensory overload. And yes, his name does come from my pen-name-thing. It'll probably get changed eventually, I just needed one that sounded cool and began with an 'A' and 'Autore' was the first one that came into my mind.
Anyway. I hoped you like this drawing, despite how bad it is! I'll see you at some point in the future, and until then, I wish you all the luck in the stars!
