[Image Description:
An image of a scanned traditional art drawing that was made using colored pencils and inking pens. The drawing is of a girl in a park who was previously painting with an easel and stool being knocked over by a dog jumping on her. The girl is short, and doesn’t look older than 10. she has dark skin, dark green eyes, and shoulder length curly brown hair that hangs loosely around her. She is wearing a light green short sleeved shirt with a red strips on it, blue Jean shorts, and red and black sandals. She is falling backwards stiffly, with her back straight and her arms flying up into the air along with one if her legs. As she is falling, she is knocking over a wooden stool that‘s about half as tall as her. Behind the stool is a wooden easel that’s standing a few inches behind the stool. The easel is holding a canvas painting that has a “painting” of the landscape behind the easel, which is not on the page. The dog jumping on the girl is large and short haired, with a mostly white coat with brown spots. The dog is jumping stiffly. The whole scene takes place in a park. The girl and her easel are on an open expanse of grass by a grey concrete sidewalk. There is a wooden park bench that unrealistically takes the entire width of one patch of the sidewalk. Behind the sidewalk are a bunch of evergreen trees that were planted in badly drawn mulch. The coloring for the grass in this drawing is obviously scribbled and poorly done. The mulch is a bunch of badly and oddly shaped brown triangles. The depth perception is slightly better than it was in the Rainer’s bedroom illustration but the sidewalk still sloped up at and unnatural angle.

I am very proud with how this turned out! At least, the depth perception part of it. My brother's taking a fancy art class where he's learning how to do vanishing points and that sort of thing, so I had him help me out with it. I'd honestly take the art class myself, but I have Philosophy that period, so my brother's just tutoring me for now. The action's not the best, and I REALLY need to learn how to draw proper looking trees and animals, but dEPTH PERCEPTION!!! It's way better now!!!
A bit about this drawing if you're interested....
Time Taken: February 24, 2019 - February 26, 2019
Materials: Crayola coloured pencils, mechanical pencil, a ruler, my little bro, and inking pens
Characters:
If you've been following my blog thing (which you probably haven't), you'll remember Evelyn from the Awkward Elevator Illustration post I made a couple days ago. A bit of a ramble about Evelyn if you didn't see the last post. Evelyn's a partially human kiddo who can see, feel, and manipulate people's emotions. She's not terribly good at the manipulation part though, mostly because it makes her feel guilty when she does. Evelyn's also a synesthete, like so many of my other characters. This is Evelyn from an earlier part of the novel, when she's about eight years old or so. She's in the park painting, as you do, when all of a sudden-- bam! A dog runs into her and she gets a concussion! It has plot relevance to the story, I swear.
Anyway. I hope you liked this scene! See you next time, and may you have all the luck in the stars!
